Default Np205 Twin Stick?

I'll put this on the rock crawler section. I'm really not a rock crawler, but this would probably be the best place to ask. I'm looking for some feedback.

I have an old article on how to convert a NP205 to a twin stick set up by doing some triming on the shift rods.
My questions are-
Has anyone done this?
Any personal experience using a twin stick t-case?
Good Idea or Bad Idea?

I have an extra t-case I was thinking about doing this to. It sounds like a neat idea to be able to just use the front axle. It's just an idea I've been toying with and would like some input. Anybody?

I did this to an old NP205 that I have.... It's really easy, and there's a pattern somewhere on the net that you can print out, that is actual size to show you where to grind it at...

I didn't get to use mine much before I yanked it out of the truck, but it was nice being able to switch between the two....

Only problem I have with it, is my front shifter handle didn't wanna stay in the gear I put it in.... but I think it was something else at play there..

I've been toying with the idea to do it now and put the case in around spring. Don't know what I'd use it for but it'd be cool to have to play around with.

all I did was kept resizing the picture on the computer monitor till I got it the same size as the shift rail, then matched it that way. It;s a easy mod and I loved it.
