Default MPG for a 390

How good of gas mileage does a 1976 f100 4x4 w/ 390 and 4spd get??

I'm thinking of getting this:

Runs great I have. Title drives rough w big tires 33x15.50x15superswampers It has new battery oilpump fuel pump carier bearing wheel bearing and seal ujoints new thrush glass packs w hooker headers has holly carb and valvecovers edelbrock intake has. 4spd 390 truck has rust underneath I have a parts truck if you want it to text 4 pics 1500 firm

Run the numbers on the engine then offer him 1000 for it. My money bets it is a 360.

Depends on a bunch of stuff, but I would say 14mpg would be real good for it. Prolly less.

Heavy on the prolly less part. You could figure 10, but my old 360 got less than that. If MPG is an issue for you, this is probably not the truck to get.

That gets my vote as well...probably looking closer to the 8-9mpg range. And I'm another vote for it being a 360.

Not really a MPG guy, just trying to figure out which is worse on gas a 360/390 or a 460.

^^^It's been my experience, that in stock form...you're looking at 8mpg's from both in good operating form.

Well, it's not a 390,but my FE pulled down a solid 13 MPG last time I checked it.........
